Interested candidate must work from a home-based office and live in (or be willing to move to) Columbia, S.C.

The Retail Account Manager will conduct sales calls, training sessions, service calls and entertainment functions/events with agricultural retailers, distributors, crop consultants, and other influencers, such as University and Extension personnel, for the purpose of selling DuPont Crop Protection products and service offerings. The sales territory is comprised of SC & Western NC. Main crop markets include cereals, corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton, tobacco, various veggies, & tree fruits sales potential for DuPont Crop Protection products is $7 million per year.

The primary objectives for this territory over the next 3 years will be to:
1) Maintain existing business revenue with current products

2) prepare to successfully introduce new DuPont Crop Protection products

3) identify new market opportunities.

Extensive travel for customer interaction is required, typically three plus weeks per month, including some overnight travel. Most travel will be driving via provided company vehicle, 250 or more miles per day is typical.
Qualifications

• Minimum of three years sales experience, preferably in agriculture

• Strong agricultural technical expertise

• Business background/acumen and strong customer focus

• Excellent planning and organizational skills

• Aptitude to effectively work with others as a contributing member of a high performance sales team

• Demonstrated leadership ability

• Ability to sell/influence/negotiate with customers

• Demonstrated coaching and teaching skills

• Good interpersonal skills and sensitivity/respect for peoples' differences

• Ability to effectively network with both internal and external partners

• Self motivated; effective performance with minimal supervision

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated knowledge and value for safety, ethics and environmental stewardship

• Proficient in computer use (E-Mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and working from a home-based office
