This position will work with the grant support team of a large education publisher to research and analyze state and federal funding sources to identify new opportunities that match our product offerings. Specialists work full-time from their home office. Since this is home-based, the position can be located anywhere in the United States.

Ideal applicants will have:

' Strong writing background or writing-focused bachelor's degree,

' Experience working in K-12 educations, and

' Grant-writing experience.

Exceptional analytical, organizational, technical writing and verbal communication skills are essential for successful performance in this position. Additionally, experience with document design and research writing is also important. The ability to learn quickly and a demonstrated interest in educational issues are also important. A writing sample will be required as part of the interview process for this position. Training will be provided in the elements of successful grant documents and Pearson products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

' Prepare grant-writing support documents for our customers. At the direction of the Grants and Funding Manager/Specialist, prepare grant help packets and other grant related documents using boilerplate and other narrative from content database.

' Quality control. Ensure that written documents adhere to the guidelines set forth by state and local customers.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Related work experience

' Minimum three years proposal writing experience.

' Project management experience.

' Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word proficiency.

' Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.

' Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Formal education or equivalent

' Bachelor's degree required. English degree preferred.
Skills

' Able to produce consistent, high-quality work

' Extensive knowledge of software products including MS Office products. Experience with desktop publishing or project management software a plus.
