Top Ten List for the New Work at Home Individual

In celebration of Labor Day here’s a top ten list of must haves or do’s for the WAH individual:

1. Have a professional email address: or

2. Have a quiet workspace – this could be a converted closet, area in your basement, a cubby in the den or an extra bedroom. It doesn’t matter where it is, what matters is can you work quietly and undisturbed.

3. A professional resume or proposal. Be sure to proof read several times, better yet have someone else proof read.

4. The necessary skill set(s) to match the job your applying for and continue to upgrade your skills

5. Have the right office equipment – high speed internet, landline phone (if applicable), computer with necessary OS, Ram, headset, fax, whatever is needed for your particular job.

6. The ability to make time for yourself and your loved ones.

7. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise.

8. Taking/making the time to get out of the house to interact with people in the real world.

9. A positive yet disciplined attitude

10. The desire and will power to continue to search for jobs until you find your perfect wah job.
